Ela Orleans is a Polish audiovisual artist, composer and academic based between Paris, Glasgow and Warsaw.

Her work fuses elegant, noir-ish laments, lush and atmospheric fractured narratives with influences ranging from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop to the Éthiopiques series and Bernard Herrmann film scores.

Her work has been exhibited and toured across the UK, Europe, USA and Canada, at venues such as MoMA PS1, New York; MoCA, Massachusetts; The Venice Biennale and TATE Britain. She has worked on numerous albums and film soundtracks, as well as works of theatre and opera.

Orleans joined the Cryptic Artists roster in 2020 and earned a PhD in Music from the University of Glasgow in June 2022. In 2024, she received the prestigious year-long residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris to develop her new project La nuit dorée.
