Alex Smoke is a musician and composer working across various fields of sound, including electronic production, sound installation, and instrumental composition.
His work focuses on creating immersive experiences that engage the listener’s consciousness, blending traditional concepts with contemporary techniques.
Initially trained in classical cello, drums and singing, then progressing to electronic production, he is now focused on sound for picture, psychoacoustics, making his own instruments and collaborations with visual artists and orchestral musicians.
Previous work includes scoring BBC science programs such as Order & Disorder and Mechanical Marvels: Clockwork Dreams, as well as composing the score for Scottish Ballet’s Sibilo and contributing music to various film projects.
